Shaun Parker asked:

Audis are known for being cars of exceptional quality with regards to their having the most advanced technology, durability and finish. Because of this, buying a used Audi can be a sensible proposition, particularly when the vehicle has previously had its bodywork, engine, interior and electrics rigorously checked, has previously passed detailed road tests, and has a detailed warranty. All of these are features of the Approved Used Audi car package, which is offered by official dealerships. The Audi range includes the popular all-road 4×4, the A4 Cabriolet, and the A2, with its attractive design, agile handling and low fuel consumption.

Vehicle Provenance

A vehicle provenance check demonstrates that a vehicle is as described, and should include a certification of the following items:

The vehicle’s full specification

The date the car was registered

Assurance that the car has not be used as part of a finance agreement

A guarantee that the car has not been stolen

An indication that the car does not have a condition (write off) record

Evidence that the vehicle has not had a plate change

Other types of checks

You should look for a provider who offers a full and long-lasting warranty check and vehicle mileage checks, provided by Vehicle Mileage Check Limited, which may even include contacting previous owners and the DVLA. Your used car supplier should also have some sort of exchange plan in place.

Where to look for used Audis

If you look online, you should be able to find lists of Audis that meet your criteria, and in a reasonably proximate geographic location.

Then you can arrange to visit a dealer or the owner directly. If you buy from a dealer, you may have access to a parts or bodyworks service, which should enable you to get a good deal on significant replacement parts. Buying from a dealership also gives you the security of having relevant facts checked and corroborated, and you’ll know who to contact in the unlikely event that something goes wrong. Audi dealerships will also often have maintenance staff who have been trained by the manufacturers themselves, helping to maintain the value of your car at the point of resale and keep the warranty up to date. And if you’re not sure when your car will need to have a check, the ’service indicator’ button on your car’s dashboard will tell you when your next appointment is due.

Approved Used Audis also offer up to a year’s free servicing and roadside assistance for a limited duration. Finance arrangements offered by the manufacturers themselves make it possible to own ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ for as little as

Fast Cars Like Audi A6 Rocks

Jessica Whittaker asked:

Fast cars like Audi A6 last for ever. The new Audi A6 (previously the C6) was unveiled in the year 2005. At that time fast cars like the Audi A6 was a big carhit all over the world. The new Audi A6 was premeditated by Walter de’Silva, the new form is visually a development of the C5, but is longer by 492 cm. It includes the new Audi brand single-frame grille, and has more refined equipment. Its design has been censured, as the grill is approximately closely the same as the Rover 75 V8’s, which was released a year before.

Most prominent is the MMI (Multi Media Interface) which is an arrangement calculating in-car entertainment, satellite routing, and climate management, automobile settings like suspension arrangement and optional electronic accessories using a central display interface. This has the benefit of diminishing the amount of buttons usually found on a control panel by substituting them with controls which manage many devices using the incorporated screen.

The engine of the Audi A6 sports a fresh FSI direct injection technology was commenced for the first time outside the race track. Although the line of engines symbolizes the same succession as the previous model, all engines were original.

The Multitronic mechanical transmission persists as a substitute with a new 6-speed Tiptronic gearbox obtainable in the high end models. Quattro stable four wheel drive is existing in most of the array, and typical in the most powerful models. The quattro is not offered on the multitronic alternative of the Audi A6 but can be bought on the physical and Tiptronic gear arrangements.

On the contrary, the Tiptronic scheme is only accessible on the quattro variations of the sedan. The 6-speed manual gearbox is offered with the 3.2L engine but not for the North American market as sales of C5 manuals were sluggish. The Audi A6 comes with other choices of body too. The Avant turned up during the course of the year 2005.

In China, a longer car was brought out in the same year and named the A6 L. The all road (now called A6 all road quattro) model made its first appearance in 2006 and as before is an off-road prepared model of the Avant which is available with either a 2.7 or 3.0 diesel or 3.2 or 4.2 petrol.

The sport model S6 was introduced in the Frankfurt Motor Show, with sales commencing from early 2006. It is power-driven by a Lamborghini-derived 5.2 L V10 FSI delivering 435 PS (320 kW). The S6 attains 60 mph from stationary in 5.1 seconds and the quarter mile is covered in 13.5 seconds.

A powerful RS6 will go on sale early in the year 2008. This will be motorized by a Lamborghini-derived 5.2 LV10 TFSI giving 580 PS (426 kW). The car is well-built and its materials are of high quality. The dashboard is covered with a material which is soft and pliable. Seats are upholstered with leather and the wooden inserts look very elegant and attractive.

Audi A6 sports a comfortable feel and its Bluetooth hands-free cell phone system is excellent. Its backup camera and iPod integration work very well.

Jessica Whittaker asked:

The 2008 Audi A5 is an entry-level luxury coupe. There is only one trim level. This car comes with standard features including eight-way power front seats, fog lights, alloy wheels measuring 18 inches, a ten speaker audio system also including a satellite radio and CD changer, upholstery in leather, automatic climate control, sunroof which can be tilted up, power front seats, etc.

Other exciting features in the Audi A5 include heated seats, keyless ignition, auto dimming mirrors, Bluetooth, alloy wheels measuring 19 inches,bi xenon headlights, parking assist (with rearview camera), a navigation system which is state of art. Audio system is the exclusive Bang & Olufsen with a 505 watt output. This also comes with an interface for the iPod.

A 3.2-liter V6 with direct-injection technology powers the 2008 A5. Output stands at 265 hp and 243 pound-feet of torque. The V6 comes matched to either a manual shift control complemented with an automatic gearbox or a six speed manual with a six speed gear box which is also automatic. Audi claims the manual-transmission A5 will run from zero to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds. This car clocked a best timing of 6.4 seconds.

Antilock brakes, stability and traction control, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags all come standard. Typically Audi, the cabin is awesome as it is upholstered in leather fitting perfectly on the components and finished with real wood trim. Audi A5 comes with intuitive controls with the help of which you can effortlessly navigate the steepest of turns.

The multi adjusting front seats offer all-day touring comfort. If you opt for the upgraded seats, you have the additional comfort of the lateral support. Two people can sit at the rear. If you are tall, though, you may find sitting on it uncomfortable as there is little leg room. The trunk offers 16.1 cubic feet of cargo capacity which is quite spacious. If you are looking for more storage space, you have the option of flipping down the rear seats.

The 2008 Audi A5 comes with a longer wheel base and consequently lesser mass hanging out over the front tires due to which the steering is more responsive and user friendly for the driver and the turns can be negotiated in a crisp manner. The wheel’s effort is a bit light at lower speeds, but as you negotiate twists and turns, the wheel is extremely balanced and precise providing the driver with fantastic support and grip. Fantastic response is provided with the help of the V6 engine. Though the manual transmission may at first seem a little complicated, the strong and linear brakes helps you acclimate to them.

Mercedes-Benz CLK 350, BMW 335i and 328i coupes and Infiniti G37 are some of the competitors for the 2008 model of Audi A5. The BMW siblings are the Audi’s most direct competition, with features including a reasonable price range and good driving dynamics. While the 335i is just a little more expensive than the Audi A5, the 328i is significantly cheaper. It is however in your hands to decide on whether you’re choosing passion or practicality.

The Audi Tt — a High-end Sports Vehicle

Filed Under audi | Comments Off

audi
IC asked:

Manufactured by the highly renowned and prestigious German automaker Audi, the TT version has been quite a hit ever since it became available on the market. The Audi TT is classified as a sports vehicle and it is available as a two seater roadster or a 2+2 coupe. The development of this high-quality vehicle goes back to 1994 and the main concepts were brainstormed at the Audi design Center in California.

One year later (1995) the Audi TT was featured at the Frankfurt auto show as a concept car and amazingly enough after being thoroughly reviewed the project was given a green light in order to start the production, most of the design and the original concept remained intact which is something very rare among concept vehicles. At the moment there have been two generations developed, let’s take a look at them.

First-generation:

This original vehicle was launched as a coupe in 1998 and the two seater roadster version was introduced to the market one year later (1999) — the engine feature in this generation was a 1.8L Turbo I4, 3.2L VR6, the transmission configuration is available as a five speed manual or automatic as well as a six speed automatic or DSG.

The first few TT’s gained media coverage and were put on the spot light because of high-speed accidents in Europe, accidents which ended up in fatalities occurred at speeds in excess of 110 mph, this trigger a recall of both versions within this generation in order to improve the handling of very high speeds.

Second-generation:

As it is expected from later generations the Audi TT (8J) features a beautiful and refined design which was first unveiled at the 2005 Tokyo motor show as a concept vehicle, the body style shown was a two door hatchback. Later on the 2006 Audi announced second-generation which is built with aluminum at the front and steel in the rear, this was done in order to improve the balance and handling of this performance vehicle, it is also available in front or all-wheel-drive.

According to its design performance and features the second-generation vehicle entered the car and driver magazine 10 best list for 2000 and 2001 — it was awarded several other prices and titles as well.
