I have a 1998 Audi A6 Quattro and am taking it to a mechanic shop that specializes with Audi’s. Here is the list:

Tie Rod’s in the front are extremely loose

A ball joint needs to be replaced

Audi needs alignment

Transmission fluid needs to be replaced

Air conditioning isn’t cold, needs coolant?
I know I am looking at about $1,000+

including that I have my car displaying service inspection but after everything my guess would be about $1,300. God why? lol

I have searched online for “exterior door trim” and could not find the part. I need it because it started to peel up and eventually fell off while driving. I am concern that my brand new Audi with 15K miles needs a new transmission. When I went to my routine service and ask them about some shift issues and then I got a call from the dealer saying they are working what to do with Audi Corporate since my car needs to have a new transmission. I am concern that this would give me a lot of issues on the future and it would lower my trade in value later.

Is this true? Please I want to hear from people who can actually back this up with facts - mechanics and people who actually know about the engineering of these cars. My friend has an Audi TT and at first she was like…’oh this is the best car ever!’ and now she wishes she never bought it,as it has proved to be very unreliable and cash draining.

I truly believe that VW, Audi and BMW build strong powerful cars, but it would appear they are high also maintainence and have a fair share or problems. I have also never heard of Audi winning awards for ‘car of the year’, simple because they do not have a fantastic track record for reliablilty and customer service.

Now listen guys I would like to hear unbiased opinions, not just from audi owners who are trying to defend the car they perhaps now wished they hadn’t forked out so much money on.
