I have a 2005 Audi A4 sendan. The computer keeps beeping with a warning that the license plate lights are not working. I have replaced both bulbs but I continue to get the error and the lights will not come on. What can be the problem?
PS I don’t have a users manual so I can’t even check the fuses but would the license plate lights even be on a separate circuit?

Just the license plate lights .. They are probably on the same fuse as the tail lights, so make sure those are working. If the tail lights are okay, then it’s something right in the license plate light socket, like the socket itself, or the plug where the lights plug into the wiring harness
